God, as you claim this babe, child of your own,
Never may they forget they’re not alone.
Through all their joyful days, dark nights, life’s passageways,
Direct and guide their ways, till fully grown.

As oil anoints their head, and as we pray
We rest assured to know, you’ll never stray.
May this and every child to you be reconciled.
And staying all the while on your pathway.

O gentle God of Love, Parent Divine,
May we show forth the love shown humankind.
Lord, may you watch and bless, grant peace and happiness.
And on this child impress love through all time.
