We Gather at this Table, Lord

We Gather at this table, Lord

We gather at this table, Lord
OLD HUNDREDTH   8.8.8.8   ("Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow")

We gather at this table, Lord
from lands nearby and lands beyond,
All unified within your love,
All bounded by your sacred bond.

We gather speaking different tongues,
We come from different life journeys,
We join our hands both old and young
to celebrate diversity.

Now let us welcome everyone,
Let nothing that we say or do
divide each other from your Son,
Bring unity that’s overdue.

Let nothing tear this group apart,
Not how we vote or who we love,
Let each one search within their heart
to see all as you do above.

Let this be our communion prayer,
Let everyone feel welcomed here,
May wounded hearts begin repair
and feel the Spirit’s presence near.
